Existing law provides farmers with a first priority debt claim for products they deliver to processors, provided the farmer follows certain steps. A new law creates a new “wine producer lien” (a priority debt claim) specific to wine grape growers, making the steps for “perfecting” the claim on debt more in-line with wine market timeframes.
