As the election looms, one question is what will the outcome mean for wine? There are still many unknowns and several potential outcomes in terms of which party controls what, but our lobbyist, Michael Kaiser, has provided an insightful pre-election analysis.
Meanwhile, the hot issue right now is the development of the 2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA), and there is much more going on that you need to know. One thing we know for sure is that whichever political party wins the White House, House, and Senate, we can always count on the bipartisan Congressional Wine Caucus to protect our industry. Co-chaired by Representatives Mike Thompson (D-CA) and Dan Newhouse (R-WA), who are both directly involved in the grape and wine business themselves, the CWC has been a true champion of our industry’s issues, and that will continue next year and beyond.
