The WineAmerica State Associations Council (SAC) was established in 2003 and aims to build partnerships with allied state and regional winery and grape grower associations, as well as to provide an invaluable forum for communication and grassroots action on issues of concern to our industry. Currently over 58 state and regional wine and grape growers associations have joined the SAC. During SAC meetings, members discuss issues such as increasing viticulture and research funding, bettering relationships with local extension programs, agriculture departments and local lawmakers and policy issues at the state and federal level that directly affect state industries.

SAC members receive bulletins, newsletters, and other information on public policy developments of concern to the industry. In addition, an online forum allows for rapid communication among Council members, enabling them to quickly poll their peers for information on legislation, marketing and promotions occurring in their home state.
