Fall 2016: Membership Conference – Willamette Valley, OR



WineAmerica is heading to the scenic Willamette Valley this November for our annual Fall Board of Directors and Membership Meeting. Every year visit a different wine region to review our successes for the year and look to the future of the organization. The Fall Meeting is an excellent time for WineAmerica to take our message to a specific region, and for the Board, association members and winery members to come together. The dates for the meeting are November 2-3 and will be held at the Alison Resort and Spa. Look for registration and hotel information in the coming weeks.

  • To include the state legislative roundtable and strategy session for 2017.

11:00 am – 11:30 am: Wine Industry Network Partnership Update

  • George Christie of Wine Industry Network (WIN) and Jim Trezise of the WineAmerica Board will provide a status update on the WineAmerica partnership with WIN on the 2017 US Beverage Expo

11:30am – 12:00 pm: Membership and Organizational Session

  • A brainstorming session examining WineAmerica’s role in the American wine industry and in Washington, DC

12:15 pm – 1:30 pm: Lunch with Keynote Speakers

  • Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Representative Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR)  (Invited)

1:30 pm – 2:45 pm: Oregon Wine Industry Panel: Learn about the issues pertinent to the Oregon wine industry from the key leaders in the local industry. This is a unique and exciting chance for the WineAmerica leadership to meet with the wineries from the Willamette Valley and beyond. Speakers include:

  • Eugenia Keegan, Gran Moraine
  • Sam Tannahill, Rex Hill and A to Z Wineworks

3:00 pm – 4:30 pm: Government Affairs Committee Report

  • The WineAmerica government affairs team will discuss what we have done in 2016, and what is ahead for the rest of the year and for 2017. WineAmerica encourages our Oregon guests to stay and learn about the important work WineAmerica is doing in Washington, DC. Topics to include Federal Excise Tax Reform and Music Licensing.

4:30 pm – 5:00 pm: Legislative Breakout Sessions

  • WineAmerica staff will lead two separate breakout sessions for interested attendees who would like a focused discussion

5:30 pm: Travel by bus to Brooks Wines

6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Wine Reception featuring local WineAmerica Member Wineries

7:00 pm – 9:00 pm:  Brooks Wine Dinner
