Since January 1, 2018, wineries throughout the country have been saving significant amounts of money due to various legislation that WineAmerica lobbied for over the years—most recently the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act (CBMTRA). This bill created a major excise tax credit for wineries of all sizes, resulting in savings that are huge multiples of the dues paid to WineAmerica. The credit is even larger for wines between 14% and 16% ABV by making the tax rate the same as for wines up to 14%..
