DC Fly-In

There are over 10,000 wineries in the U.S., of which about 300 invest in WineAmerica and the other 9,700 benefit for free. About 30 of our members attended the recent DC Fly-In, meaning they’re basically the 1% carrying the 99%. Those people are the heroes of our industry.

The two-day Fly-In was orchestrated by Michael Kaiser, Executive Vice President and Director of Government Affairs, who scheduled 80 legislative appointments for our members from 14 states. We also met with top officials at the Tax and Trade Bureau, and the United States Department of Agriculture.

Everywhere we went we discussed our top legislative and regulatory priorities, and left behind key documents from our 2025 National Economic Impact Study of the Wine Industry, which totals $323 billion and benefits all 50 states.

The WineAmerica Federal Issues 2025 document we left in each office is in today’s Bonus Info section below.

We encourage all wineries to join WineAmerica, as we’re all in this together. Meanwhile, thanks again to the 1%.
