Report released on dietary guidelines


US Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee Releases Report

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have jointly released the report on the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC). The report will be used by USDA and HHS in writing the 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

The report states that moderate consumption of alcohol can be a component of a healthy lifestyle. It also states that it is not recommended that adults increase alcohol consumption based on these findings.

WineAmerica will monitor the progress of the final report, but we do not anticipate any changes to the recommendations.
