Fly-In Messaging

WineAmerica is the national wine industry’s messenger for federal public policy priorities.

Next week, 25 WineAmerica members from 10 states will attend about 80 meetings in just two days.  They’ll brief top staff members of their Senators and Representatives, all emphasizing the same messages:

–Discontinue the sale of intoxicating hemp until appropriate regulation and taxation are implemented

–Pass the Farm Bill with its key funding sources for export promotion, block grants, research funding, and crop insurance

–Eliminate tariffs on wine and other products which ultimately are harming the American wine industry in several ways

Past successes from WineAmerica’s advocacy include:

–Craft Beverage Marketing and Tax Reform Act, which saves wineries of all sizes major money each year

–Repeal of the Special Occupational Tax (SOT, enacted to pay for the Civil War), saving even more money

–Repeal of the federal bond requirement bringing more savings

–Funding in prior Farm Bills for grape and wine industry priorities
